Planning a Sound Solution
Technicon's experienced engineering team can help your company in the initial design phase of a product to ensure that sound goals are achieved. The benefits of designing and planning for acoustic treatment are:
- Improve treatment effectiveness
- Save installation time
- Reduce weight
- Save money
Our engineering team will use these key design principles.
- Treat as close to noise source as possible
Applying treatment close to the noise source is key. Using this technique allows for less material to be used to reach targeted noise levels. For example, this can be accomplished by building an enclosure around a noisy compressor or using isolators to mount an engine.
- Block Noise Paths
If you can see it; you can hear it!! Sound travels in waves very similar to light. By creatiing a tortuous path or baffle the sound is forced to strike a treated surface upon exit.
- Leave Room for Treatment
When designing a product it is important that enough space is provided for noise control materials to be installed.
- Use the Right Products
It is important to understand that there is no single best material for all applications. There are two major factors in determining the best products to use. They are knowing the problem frequency and considering the environment where the product will be used. Once these questions are answered, our engineering team will select the right material for your application.
